Anniversaries
Anniversaries remind us of major benchmarks in our lives.
In anniversaries we take time to remember events in our
lives that transformed us. We seek to examine how a
particular event has changed us over time and the
ways in which we have grown as a result. The most
common types of anniversaries are weddings
and funerals, yet others include sobriety and
resiliency (e.g., survival of a tragedy, or immigration).
Baby Blessings and Naming Ceremonies
All major religions have some form of blessing a new life.
A baby blessing is the recognition of the newborn as
a gift to the family and the world. It is a ritual of gratitude
and planting the seeds of good wishes for the new life.
Many parents also choose to have a baby naming ritual
or ceremony, in order to introduce their child to loved
ones and pay honor to the child's name and heritage.
Birthdays
Most of us celebrate birthdays with a party, a nice
dinner, or even a trip. How about bringing spirituality
into your celebration? What if your birthday was a
celebration of gratitude for another year of growing
in wisdom? A birthday ritual can be an opportunity
for releasing old patterns and behaviors while
embracing and creating a new energy of how you
want to experience yourself.
Commitment Ceremonies
We are honored and proud to officiate at
commitment ceremonies for lesbian, gay, bisexual,
and transgender (LGBT) couples that are looking
to affirm their loving union. Most LGBT couples
choose to have a ceremony after a long relationship,
so the ceremony itself is but a celebration of those
elements that brought the couple together and saw
them through the challenges of life. Because LGBT
weddings are not bound by traditional formalities,
we are free to create a unique ceremony reflective of the
couple’s individual values, beliefs, and idiosyncrasies.
Counseling
We also offer counseling service through Hilda Gieco,
MA and Raymond Rodriguez, LMSW. We practice an
integrative approach to counseling that combines a
variety of therapeutic modalities and spirituality.
We see our role as simply mirroring for the client
his or her wholeness and facilitating the client’s
journey towards wholeness. Types of counseling
include pre-marital, individual and couples, spiritual,
and grief.
House Blessings
A new home is an occasion to celebrate the blessings
of life. A new home is also a moment to reflect, pause,
and bring good wishes into the space. A typical house
blessing involves a cleansing ritual where we rid the
space of the energies from its previous inhabitants
while creating room for the good wishes
that are shared by your family and friends.
Memorials/Funerals
The ultimate transition in life is death. A memorial
service is a moment to reflect, remember, and celebrate
the life of that one beloved person that is no longer with
us. A memorial helps us in letting go of the life that we
once knew with the departed while we begin to make
sense of what our new life without that person will be.
In a memorial, family and friends gather together
in mourning and in their companionship the hurt is
alleviated. In our unity we cope better. The end of a life
is an important event that causes our own soul and other
souls to grow and change. Even though this can
be the most painful of rituals it also can be the
most healing.
Personal Achievement Life Rituals
Personal achievement rituals include events such as
coming of age, career change, promotion, retirement,
going off to college or any other event not consistently
celebrated by society but of importance to the individual.
Reiki Healing Sessions
Hilda M. Gieco is a certified Reiki Master and offers
